cteno4
Only usa stuff so far. I would bet they don’t list Japanese stuff and keep doing that the same way they have been faxing in the instruction sheet with part numbers wanted circled. jeff Link to comment

This is still done in Japan too. Probably the only country that still fax, despite their reputation for technology. Kato still send out their new release order forms with the posters along with a copied and stapled A4 booklet with all relevant Assy parts related to the releases. I recently orderered some updated light units and chassis for the end cars of the upcoming 211-0. Everything here requires a physical paper form or 3 as many documents need an inkan. As for Japanese parts in the US, it’s probably a case of only covering models they carry, if any. To be honest, i’ve never seen any assyparts for US outline in Japan. Link to comment
cteno4
They will (it has been a little on and off over the years) order Japanese parts for you for models not brought over by Katousa (at one point they wouldn’t import parts for any after they brought over the 500 and many broke diaphragm couplers, which got a lot of people pissed off and kato then relented). The rub is it can sometimes be months for it to come over and I think like $10-12 shipping in us for a small part now (last one I did maybe 4 years ago was $9). I’m guessing the parts come over in a container of Katousa stuff so should not have any real japan to us shipping cost. jeff Link to comment
