Printed out half an enclosure for my DCC-EX Command Station

Recommended Posts

Wow. My DCC-EX system is just a bunch of boards sitting on the bench in anti-static bags, pretty much the same as my first PC back in the early 80's.

I do have one of the DCC-EX motor shields, capable of a full 5A if I ever need that much, but also with full current sense for the short circuit detection and accurate reading of decoders.

Have you dived into the rabbit hole of Ex-Rail yet?

I'm starting to use it for automation of my DC only Kato layout but still have a lot more to build to make it complete.

I like to make my DCC-EX system look pretty lol my current PC looks nice too.  doubt I'd ever need a 5A motor shield anytime soon. No I haven't played around with with Ex-Rail but I can see that happening there are a couple of automation tasks that I'd like to run eventually. That's pretty cool did you know with the new 5.0 version of DCC-EX you can control DC and DCC trains with the Command Station.

Yes, I've been playing with it in beta version for a while.

Takes away most of the pain of not having DCC in my Kato locos as I can use the PWM DC and still run automation with EX-Rail.
