qwertyaardvark
a google image search of "宅急便 コンテナ" (takkyubin KONTENA [container]) or "ヤマト コンテナ" (Yamato KONTENA) should help. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
Here is a Yamato Takkyubin TV commercial I have seen a lot. Advertises their "modal shift" to rail: http://www.kuronekoyamato.co.jp/company/ad/tvcm/meta/others/C00001.wvx Link to comment
underworld
Thanks bikkuri bahn & qwertyaardvark!!!! Definitely stuff I wasn't able to find before!!! On the wingroof type (a type I'd not seen before) are those two smaller containers in a larger housing? When the wing is in the "up" position is that to protect from rainfall on whatever is being loaded/unloaded? Thanks underworld Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
I'm not a truck expert, but wing roof van bodies are common in Japan for non-refrigerated haulage. I believe they allow rapid loading/unloading of pallets with forklifts.
