What would a JNS app do, exactly?

Direct access to play the Aizu webcam for one.

I can't speak for other phones, but I'm not sure what the point would be as opposed to use on iPlatforms. The Phone and touch, does pretty well. Maybe something that would work easier across all platforms would be a mobile version. htp://m.jnsforum.com

Of course, as much as I love my iPod, I'm still frcked at apple about not allowing flash on the OS3 platform.

I think that developing a mobile theme at m.jnsforum.com is the best option. I looked, and our software doesn't provide hooks for access from external apps, so that's pretty much out anyway.

Agreed that the site doesn't work the best on my mobile phone. I'll see about developing a nice theme :D

Purely theoretically, one could make an iPhone/iTouch/Android app for the site, you'd just have to make a custom API first (really, just a set of php files that access the forum database directly.)

For the iPhone/iTouch I don't see much of a point, Mobile Safari does reasonably well with the site.

What an app could look like for JNSForum though, could be similar to the Wordpress app.
