Digitized books

I was digitizing books to donate to the Internet Archive, but they have stopped marking them as for lending and now just make them available to everyone by default. That is not what I want, so I am withdrawing my donations.

 

The official word is that they only accept physical donations now, but there is a multi-year wait for them to be scanned. The instructions for donating books digitally are out of date and should not be followed, as books donated that way do not enter the library part of Internet Archive, they enter the general archive part.

 

Apologies to the mods for the hassle, it was my mistake. I'll see about donating digital copies to my local library instead.

Yes this is a concern as it’s past the usual personal/fair use to distribute copyrighted work like this online.
