KOKI Bond
Hi, Just wanted to share the track plan for the Ikebukuro Station, that I have been playing with for a few evenings. I'm not really planning to make the layout itself, just enjoy drawing the tracks. Or, well, may be someday, when I'll have a whole room to do it, because this one is 5 meters long. xD This is version 1, I have mostly focused on representing the lines and connections with switches correctly, but obviously it is not to scale. I'm thinking it could be made more compact by additional optimizations and combination of some switches into double slip crossings and etc. Additionally, there could be an issue with not having enough space to have proper grades on inclines. Anyway, may be it will be of any use for someone. Also, curious to hear thoughts, suggestions. Used Google Maps and Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikebukuro_Stationhttps://www.google.com/maps/@35.7302908,139.7111431,175m/data=!3m1!1e3?entry=ttu35.73027606583925, 139.71118441993875 Ikebukuro_Station_v1_upload_AnyRail_any_file.txt Edited July 10, 2023 by KOKI Bond Added reference links. 7 Link to comment
SL58654号
Now that's something! Very ambitious! 😀 I used to ride the Tobu-Tojo Line there every day to commute to class at Rikkyo University. Good luck if you decide to take the plunge with this layout! 👍 Wish that I had AnyRail to plan my tracks with. Link to comment
KOKI Bond
Thanks! That's a dream to have a model of any of the big stations with all the platforms and turnouts, but, unfortunately, don't have enough space for it, at least yet. 🙂 This one actually started with just the Seibu platforms (now at the bottom), but then I got excited. 😁 Speaking of AnyRail, I was hesitant to pay the price initially, and the free version is limited with a very small amount of pieces one could place on the board. I also tried a couple other free alternatives, but couldn't stand their interface. There is also some app for Mac users, Rail Modeler or something like that, that looks very promising, but I don't own a Mac, so it wasn't an option for me. And, if I understood correctly, Rail Modeler has a neat feature that it helps with calculating which pieces should go in the gap to fill it, which in AnyRail I have to do manually. Anyway, my point is that, even though I didn't want to pay 60$ for AnyRail at first, I don't regret it now that I did, and it's worth it in the long run. Especially given they promise upgrade to next major version if and when it will be released. Not an advertisement for AnyRail, but so far I'm satisfied, but IMO, if the price would be 30-35$, then I'd bought it long time ago. This is more psychological, than budgeting constraint though. maihama eki
Cool! I have often dreamed of replicating a few Tokyo area stations. Hamamatsucho appeals to me in particular since it seemed semi reasonable and offered local JR lines, Shinkansen (not stopping of course), Tokyo Monorail, and Yurikamome across the way. Lots of varied action. I have often staying in that area, so that probably swayed me as well. Link to comment

KOKI Bond
Thanks or sharing the Open Railway Map! Btw, I also once stumbled upon this site https://www.haisenryakuzu.net/ with various line and station diagrams, but haven't explored it much yet. 2 Link to comment
bill937ca
Yup, I'm familiar with those "wiring diagrams" as the Japanese call them. Link to comment
