YouTube Embeds in Safari

It looks like YouTube is requiring to see direct ip addresses for an YouTube embed to work or it gives a captia to fill in instead of the video embed. To top it off the captia never works…

 

You have to turn off “Hide IP address” in safari’s prefs.

 

I expect it’s a swipe at safari/apple with apples pseudo proxy serving as of course google likes to identify and follow you anyway they can, that’s the money! 
 

so for now if you embed a video please also just paste the link a second time as as well as just a link. You can do this by clicking on “display as a link instead” on the black bar below the embed and just the link will show for the second paste. Please do this as YouTube’s captia has not worked for me at all so you can’t get to the video.

 

sorry about this, but appears to be a google/YouTube issue. Maybe it will get fixed, but my gut feeling this is a new google “safety feature”!
