bc6
As I'm sitting here at my workbench/desk trying to install a DZ123 I'm thinking to myself why doesn't Tomix make DCC friendly trains. Prior to my attempt to install a decoder in a Tomix train I've completed an decoder installation in a new Kato E353 in less than 10 minutes. Makes you wonder huh it sure makes me wonder why Tomix doesn't make DCC friendly trains. Edited June 25, 2023 by bc6 1 Link to comment
cteno4
This has been discussed many times on the forum. Boils down to there is little dcc use in japan so no market for it. Kato got into dcc with its imports so is trying to nudge in with dcc in some Japanese trains to see if they can create a market. Tomix really does not market outside of japan. They tired a small test of some structures and fine track with Walthers nut that pretty much failed and is all but gone. Tomix chassises are generally harder to isolate than Kato chassises (that don’t have a built in dcc socket). jeff 1 Link to comment
katoftw
Little want for DCC in Japan. If Kato didn't attempt to sell in America, I doubt they would have bothered also. 1 Link to comment
