Layout in an Eight-Mat Room

Searching through Google images for information on a piece of equipment I want to buy I came across this Japanese home layout.

The layout goes around the walls of an eight-mat room, which would be about 12 x 12 and is a fairly large room for Japan.  Here's a Wikipedia page on Tatami mats.

The appears to largely use Kato track and power packs and perhaps long gone Bandai tram track. Some of the double track elevated appears to be Tomix and there is a Tomix engine house which won't accommodate Kato track centers. There's quite a book case of Kato clear cases under the layout.  His train book cases look a little more mixed.  There is an urban area and a container freight depot with the JRF style though siding loading area.

Astounding detail. What is this Bandai tram track of which you speak?

Bandai is the company that makes B Train Shorty items.  Before Tomytec issued its trams Bandai released several sets of B-train trams in boxes of 12 and some cobblestone finish track. Both are long gone from the usual internet outlets.  Scroll down in the link below.

Bandai still offers track, but without any switches in the line.

Bandai from time to time has issued other models like the Working Vehicle collection #1 and My Hometown buildings.  But these are long sold out and haven't been reissued.  Bandai is one of Japan's largest toy makers and the sole supplier of Gundam.

Thanks Bill,

That tram track looks pretty cool if its the same as in the photos. Could be interesting for a shelf layout. A little diversity for a layout.
