Richof
I have several "bad" Em13 decoders. Is there any value or repair possibilities or are they destined for the trash can? Link to comment
inobu
Several is too many.....There has to be an underlying issue somewhere. Your install process is flawed. Your programming process Your Programmer track is noise. What DCC system are you using? Inobu Link to comment
Richof
I use an older Lenz system but my programming is done thru jmri and a Digitrax PR4. I HAD A GS4 that blew up a couple every time hit hit a turnout. Resolved that issue. I smoked 1 myself doing something stupid. It's not a flaw in my system. I have 8 different trains running fine with EM13. I wasn't sure if worth trying to salvage. Link to comment
inobu
Its unusual to lose that many EM13. They are drop ins but seeing that a few were contributed to the GS4 makes sense. The GS4 can be problematic as some versions can short out the frame. Try going through each of them and do a CV8 8 write 10 consecutive times one after the other. You might recover a few.
