miyakoji
Really good video of Oigawa's fleet of older equipment from all over, including JNR, Kintetsu, Keihan, Nankai, and Seibu. It's hard to get a sense of how much they have, but it certainly looks like a lot. by K's Trip Japan. Video has English subtitles, click on the CC and gear in the lower right to enable. Google map centered on Shin-Kanaya Station. https://www.google.com/maps/@34.8257905,138.1377273,309m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en You can see cars on the sidings, and at the end of the spur that diverges just south of the station, there are more. 1 1 Link to comment
marknewton
Thanks very much for posting this. Oigawa is probably my favourite out of the 1067mm gauge private lines. And this video is a good overview of their fleet. All the best, Mark. 1 Link to comment
Beaver
Typical preservation railway; more stock than they can use or look after.......... Oh, and don't they all look so much nicer than most modern stuff? Those old engineers could make even a simple box body graceful and dignified. Nowadays industrial designers who don't necessarily know a thing about how their creations actually work, produce fancy sculptures of plastic and glass that occasionally gives a striking impression of speed and efficiency but often just look like a nonsensical mess of features, or an oversized sports car, or something you plug into a smartphone........
