Hi all, I've been in Japan for six days and I have been riding trains all that time. It has been immense fun so far. I have loads of pictures and video footage that I hope to edit together into something coherent. But for now, here's a bit of a teaser.

Were you on the E2 for the Hokuriku shinkansen, or the E7?

Taking into account the fact that the last scheduled E2 series service on the Hokuriku Shinkansen took place in January 2016, while the official last run was in March 2017, I think we can somewhat rule out it being an E2 series formation 😉.

Japan in the winter has been amazing, so much so that I haven't the time to post any pics. Here are a couple more.

I've been meaning to post some more pictures of the trip. Seriously, this was the most fun I've had in a long time. So many trains, bars, restaurants etc. I won't offer any commentary, just the most interesting pics I took.
