Kato N700S Motor Noise

I found that the motor of the recent Kato release of the N700 is excessively noisy even compared with the 100 series grand hikari. Is this something that

is product wide or do I have a defective motor? Also on that note are there different quieter motors that can be retrofitted? Can I drop in the Tomix M-13 motor? (much quieter)

 Check everything is properly located with the drive shafts as well as the gears in the trucks. Kato units are sometimes noisy and it’s usually a luck of the draw with motor noise rather than a specific model issue.
