Arakawa Forest Railway

Hi, I am going to model The Arakawa forest railway, in Yakushima, Kagoshima

The scale is Hoe/Hon30/009, since it is a 2ft 6 inch gauge railway.

The smaller track size allows me to have an Ho layout in a small space, with more track.

I made this post just for people to look at it they want to. If you want to know more technical stuff, sure.

The track will be Kato unitrack, the locomotives will be from a company called narrow Japan models, and the scenery will be mostly urban, with the occasional rice paddy or river bridge sprinkled in.

I'm confused about the urban setting? Should be mountains and trees.

Not really, the line is in dense suburban areas. You must have looked for the wrong line.

Not sure there is much dense suburban areas in Yakushima.
