Trying static grass

Chinese New Year holiday, I have some time to work on the layout. I am trying to complete the EMU maintenance yard. I have added a sensor to be able to park two locomotives (DE10 and DD51) next to the building.

 

 

After checking photos of maintenance yards, I decided to try static grass to model scarce weeds growing in the ballast. That will be a first! I purchased the Static King from Woodland Scenics, as well as 2mm and 4mm light green and medium green static grass.

 

That's the result of the first test on a piece of test track (the track is Tomix S140F, the ballast is Morin R Stone Ballast N #431 (http://www.morin.jp/products.html#ballast) dry brushed with Tamiya XF64 Red Brown). I have to say that I really like the look.
