One of the nice things about this website is that it lists the status of the rail equipment it profiles — whether the equipment is close to retirement.

Wish there was a list for Kansai, most of the old interesting (pre-vvvf) stock in Kanto has been melted down, or more happliy living a second life in Jakarta.
