There is a lot of small manufacturers that make parts for upgrading or revamping older and new sets. I thought it would be good to start a topic listing these manufacturers. Ordering needs to pass through a local shopping agent.

If you know of more, please list underneath or DM me.

For example, they have a skirt for the small DMUs produced by Tomytec, like the AN-8800: https://make.dmm.com/item/984061/ and http://musashimokei.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-75.html. I know some forumers complained that they couldn't fit a coupler to them without destroying or removing the skirt.

Wow, the kato compatible tomix couplers would be a game changer for me.  Tomix makes a lot of freight and passenger cars I would love, but I've stuck for kato for almost all my trains due to the compatibility issues.

Re-Color's site is a pain to navigate, I recommend browsing their YJA seller page to see what they make: https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/seller/re_color1001

Here are some more third party manufacturers for your consideration:

http://www.lab-kl.com is a cool store that sells metal, glass upgrade parts for all sorts of japanese, european trains, and also sells japanese body shells and decals, and Taiwanese (Touch Rail) trains and parts. Blog with more product pictures here: https://kllab2018.exblog.jp/

Unfortunately the store page is all in japanese and catered to japanese clients. If you want to purchase something, then you should ask him on Instagram. DISCLAIMER: I have not purchased yet via Instagram. So for now it is at your own risk. You can also e-mail them k.l_lab@hotmail.com. Once I purchased something via Instagram, I will of course update here.

I have inquired; the owner does sell to foreigners and does speak english. KL LAB items are also sold at physical IMON and GM stores.

OZMO factory: For purchasing lightboards of older models that do not have LED's (or very dim ones). They have their own website too, but I always refer to their Yahoo Auction page. https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/seller/ozmo_factory

https://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/ozmo-factory/c5b4c6bbcc

Ajisaitei: makes A LOT of high quality rub on stickers and destination signs and others. https://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/ajisaitei/

Hayashi: Chinese TaoBao store to get many high quality interior stickers. The best thing is that these are actually stickers; no need to glue. Also the placement instructions are very clear as opposed to other manufacturers. https://world.taobao.com/dianpu/218017588.htm

Penguin Model Shop: They make some destination stickers that are not made by Ajisaitei for some reason. Unfortunately it seems that they no longer produce new items and just sell older stock, but may be useful for some people https://penguinmodel.net/

MiyakoMokei: Makes a lot of custom light boards and alterations. Does not sell to foreigners, you will need a proxy. The lightboards are sold directly by Railgallery-Rokko however. https://www.miyakomokei.com/
