Shonan Livery?

I read somewhere that the orange/green livery was originally used on the Tokaido line in the 50s, but there seem to be pictures and  models with that livery all over the place. Does anybody know where and when that livery was (is?) used?

Orange/green livery is used on a lot of equipment in Japan. (Still still in Kansai) I've seen the livery used on Joban Line trains as well as Utsunomiya Line trains.
