Tenshodo Steam engine maintenance.

Can any forum members provide information on maintenance of Tenshodo steam mechanisms?

 

I have had my 9600, bought used, for a few months now and want to keep it running well. It’s a model produced around 2008 but no idea when it was originally purchased. 

 

There’s certainly nothing that I can see on Tenshodo’s website regarding maintenance other than repair requests. Any particular oil to use or avoid?

 

I currently have some Kato Uni-clean oil (mineral oil) and Dapoil (Dapol non-mineral oil)

 

Are either or neither suitable?

 

Also had to bin the plastic sheet that helps protect the model in its packaging as its starting to become brittle. Not sure if i need anything in its place but currently have some thin packaging plastic.
