JR East
Hi, Going to Japan for a cherry blossoms road trip, I went to Matsumoto for shooting the castle including a night session. At the morning, I made some shots at Matsumoto Station First a JR E257 Series (unfortunately shot with a white sky ...) Then a JR E351 Series On this blurry one, another E351 at the background. And just to tease how Matsumoto catle can be great at night (no post treatment, just what is known as "blue hour" in photography) Hope you'll enjoy. Edited March 11, 2021 by JR East 9 Link to comment
Tony Galiani
This past weekend I happened to be near the Amtrak station when the train came in. Earlier in the day I had seen these pictures so I was struck by how dirty and grungy the diesel and the passenger cars were, especially when contrasted with these typical pictures of Japanese passenger trains. What a difference. Ciao, Tony Galiani Link to comment

What a difference. Ciao, Tony Galiani I've also noticed how clean were the trains in Japan esp. the commuters. This one I shot in 2010 at Miyajimaguchi station (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/113_series) ... I let you drop on eye on the constructed from / to ... Edited March 1, 2021 by JR East Link to comment
disturbman
I guess that that 113 used to be one with large headlights. I never noticed JR West had retrofitted them so weirdly to smaller headlights. Very interesting detail. Edited March 1, 2021 by disturbman Link to comment

disturbman
クハ111-139 Apparently, one of a kind.In addition, Kuha 111-139, the leading car in Okayama, has been modified to attach a sealed beam from a large headlight, and it has become a headlight in the form called "Chikubeam" among enthusiasts. Even if you look at it in this way, the size used to be the outer size, but since it is the inner size, I think it would have been strange to call it that way. In good Micro Ace fashion, MA produced a model of it: A9585 Link to comment
