cteno4 Posted November 9, 2020 On ebay you can get small neodymium magnets down to discs 2mm dia x 1mm thick. but if you want really tiny magnets (down to 0.25mm cubes) go to super magnet man! Not cheap and of course not a lot of pull that tiny, but they have em! https://supermagnetman.com/collections/micro-magnets cheers jeff 1 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Cat Posted November 10, 2020 Interesting. Not sure what I would do with ones that tiny.... For the more normal neodynes of 2mm or larger diameter, I tend to buy the by the 100 count bags from Deal Extreme. If there's a modelling problem, I've got a magnet for that! chadbag Posted November 11, 2020 Would the super small ones work to trigger sensors and stuff? I would think being rare earth that even small should put out enough magnetic field to trigger but I don't know enough about this. Really small ones could be blended in on the bottom of vehicles to trigger sensors (if strong enough) without being really noticable. Quote Share this post Link to post
cteno4 Posted November 11, 2020 Probably too far to trip Hall effect sensors. I thin folks have good luck with 3 or 4mm x 1mm discs. Unless you don’t like having a small disc there whe you flip over a car. Small like 2-4mm cubes could be used and just look like a pice of undercarriage equipment. jeff Quote Share this post Link to post
