Yes, riding the Blue Trains on the Tokaido Line (alas, running no longer), I would be often awakened by a passing freight train while stopped at stations like Shizuoka or Hamamatsu. It was an unusual sensation in Japan to be in a passenger train pulled over to let a higher priority freight pass by. Of course, this is normal in the U.S. :icon_tongue: Link to comment
