bill937ca
Does anyone know what the red diamond on the front of Tosa Electric Railway streetcars indicates? I suspect this indicates a turnback or short working, as not all cars carry this diamond. The Modemo NT101 has add-on parts to add this diamond to the model. Link to comment
Guest ___
I was thinking it was express or a tram that does not stop at all stations as in a local. Link to comment
stevenh
Does that read "ごめん" ? Meaning sorry? They're either apologising that they're late? or skipping people? Link to comment
qwertyaardvark
Actually, it seems that those signs are indications of what line they run on. According to the jap Wiki, they run on three lines: 伊野線, 後免線, and 桟橋線 which in Romaji are Ino (いの, the first sign you see in the video), Gomen (ごめん, sign you see on the model pic you posted ), and San Bashi(?, さんばし,as mentioned on the wiki), atleast as far as Kouchi City, Japan is Concerned. Update:English version of wiki! I hope that helps :) Link to comment

bill937ca
Does that read "ごめん" ? Meaning sorry? They're either apologising that they're late? or skipping people? Apparently when translated literally one of the place names means sorry and the place name translates to "sorrytown". There a discussion of this on the Australian Transport Discussion Board. There also are several more photos and videos on that post. http://www.busaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&p=524216 There are also more Japanese streetcar photos from the poster's trip on this page. http://s706.photobucket.com/albums/ww69/TransitJapan/Trams/ Link to comment
