JimR
I bought a Kato 11-106 power unit sometime ago for a project that went to to the side. I picked up the power until today and noticed what appears to be a gear protruding from the bogie housing centered on the bogie. I also have been modeling rack-n-cog n-scale and immediately tried the power unit on Fleishmann rack track. to my surprise the gear and rack mesh, however the tooth spacing seems to be off when it tries to climb the rack. Does anyone know the tooth spacing of the Kato gear and the Flieshmann rack track? They're close but i don't think a perfect match. the power unit chatters up the incline and free-runs down the rack.
