Welshbloke
I've seen a couple of Instagram posts showing KuMoNi 83 006 being moved by road in the last day or so. Anyone know where it's going and why? It has been at the Toshiba plant for years and is now the last of its line, so hopefully long term preservation beckons. Welshbloke
More photos here. It looks as if the 103 which was with it at Toshiba is on the move too: 2 Link to comment

I was thinking the same thing. In Australia there'd be escort vehicles, cops, lots of flashing lights, road closures, environmental impact statements, NIMBYs protesting... I really hope they're not going to be scrapped. I have models of both types in HO, they're cars I'm very partial to. Mark. Edited April 15, 2020 by marknewton Link to comment
Welshbloke
Isn't Japan still in an official state of emergency? Strikes me that would be an excellent time to move a couple of outsize loads. I have also seen a couple of photos of the bogies on a low loader, but funnily enough most of the interest is in the bodywork. Link to comment

Welshbloke
Hopefully to be kept intact, rather than have their cabs hacked off like those unfortunate KuHa 111s. Link to comment

Welshbloke
A photo popped up earlier of the two of them in their new home: Judging by the filler and primer work I expect there to be photos of fresh repaints before long. 1 Link to comment
Welshbloke
Well, that was impressively rapid considering the world situation! Looking good. Hopefully they can keep the vehicles well ventilated. 4 Link to comment
