Some of those places remind of the Greenmax bus station. Do buses load passengers in garage like structures in small towns or on minor lines? Taxi bases seem to be something like that. if things are really primitive a bus depot might just be a parking lot. There were a few of those in midtown Manhattan prior to 1950.
