miyakoji
Unusual beasts, sad to see them go. I often associate these with the 255 series due to the 3-lamp headlight cluster. I wonder how much longer those will be running. Link to comment
railsquid
I think that was a design trend in the early 90s, the E351 series also had them. Video location is Shinagawa Station, in case anyone was wondering. Edited March 13, 2020 by railsquid 1 Link to comment
Socimi
Yes, the centrally-placed three-lamp headlights were a short-lived design quirk of 1990s JR East. 215s, 251s, 255s, E531s, and E217s all have this kind of headlights, and the 651s also have very similar ones (altough without the central lamp). Sacto1985
Are the 251's heading for the scrap yard or will they be refurbished and placed on Home Liner services? 1 Link to comment

They do already run Home Liners: the Ohayo Liner Shinjuku and the Home Liner Odawara, togheter with 185s and 251s. Link to comment
