Cat
A priest, a gardener, and an artist walk into Tokyo Station....https://trafficnews.jp/post/93445 We're already inspired to add something like this to our layout. It wouldn't be very visible inside an N scale station; but, Mito Station has a very large pedestrian walkway and plaza leading into the south entrance where a small rock garden would add a lot of interest to the scene. cteno4
Station plazas are a great place to have a pop on exhibit area with different things like a garden, sculpture, giant Pokémon’s (saw a great exhibit of like a dozen of them like 8’ high each), etc. cheers jeff 1 Link to comment
ben_issacs
Folks, Has anyone stuck a plinthed steam loco on their layout, in a small garden area? Regards, Bill, Melbourne. Link to comment
ben_issacs
Folks, From my memory, there's a station on the Yamanote Loop, can't remember its name, where there is a plinthed C 11 tank engine in an area near the station. Regards, Bill, Melbourne. Link to comment
Cat
Vice versa: we've long dreamed of putting a caboose out in our back garden and using it as a train room! 1 Link to comment

It (hilariously) has a fenced-off smoking area attached. https://modelrail.otenko.com/japanese-trains/tokyo-july-2016 (Scroll to the bottom of the post) 1 Link to comment
