Yavianice
I know, I know... but would you say that the JR pass is targeted to japanese passport holders that have been living abroad for 10 years, or more for foreign people who mostly do not speak japanese? I would guess the latter, which makes this document in japanese only baffling to me. Link to comment
railsquid
I'd say this is a press release aimed at Japanese companies and organisations who deal with the rail pass in some way, not marketing aimed at potential users. Link to comment

katoftw
Well there hasnt been a price increase for 6 years or more. I started tracking prices in 2014. Unless to count the 2% gst increase. So seems fair. All other passes of similar nature seem to have a bi yearly increase. Link to comment
Yavianice
The website has launched https://www.japanrailpass-reservation.net/ As of writing it's offline again for maintenance purposes, however. Not that it matters because nobody can go to Japan for tourism purposes now anyway. Link to comment
