ben_issacs
Folks, Here in Australia The Great Southern Railway Co. operate the Adelaide - Darwin 'Ghan' and Sydney- Perth 'Indian-Pacific' luxury cruise trains. They now have just introduced a third cruise train, the ''Great Southern (a sadly unimaginative name' ), two nights, three days Adelaide-Brisbane, and three nights, four days, Brisbane -Adelaide, with stop-offs at various places along the way. Because of the Wet Season and hot summer weather in Northern Australia, the 'Ghan' does not run for about three months of the year, so its locos and cars, re-labelled, become the 'Great Southern' for that period. It'll be interesting to see how this train goes as a Japanese style 'cruise train'. Interior looks pretty swish, but not up to the Japanese standards. Regards, Bill, Melbourne. Link to comment
