Most of the bigger overnight buses on the bigger routes in Japan have these singlar premium seats. The wording hotel though really just confuses things.

Well compared to the long distance busses I’ve ridden around the world I would call these Hotels!

Driving them looks fun. Just settling down for an overnight cruise. Hopefully they get a sound system in the cab to help stay awake!

Pretty plush.

 

I think I would prefer to sleep in Tokyo and take the first Nozomi of the morning to Kyoto for roughly the same price.
