Buck Heard
Any of you guys double head your locomotives? I've got an Atlas and a Kato I tried running together last night and the Kato is running a lot faster than the Atlas. So much in fact that I think the Kato may be dragging the Atlas. I'm guessing it's probably a gearing issue but I was wondering if DCC might help resolve the issue. I have no experience in that side of the hobby but I have read where DCC sometimes slows some locomotives down. Could DCC help me match the locomotives speeds so I could run them together? Any help would be appreciated. Link to comment
CaptOblivious
Yes, DCC can help a lot here. Most decoders allow very fine-grained controll over throttle response: you can dictate exactly how fast you loco should go at a given throttle position. I hhave used this feature in the past to synchonize two different locos so they would consist happily. DCC has other features to help make consisting easy to do, too. Link to comment
