Kawasaki's M8 railcars for Metro-North (CT)

Interesting article about the new railcars which will leave KHI's Kobe plant next week by boat.  Other than the tri-power collection system, nothing remarkable- exterior shape basically same as the nearly 40 yr. old M2 design, interior standard plasticky surfaces and clashing candy-cane colors.  But apparently will be a big improvement on the older life-expired units.  Amusing to see the JR East E233 unit peeking in on the left edge of the picture in the background- now that's a nice looking EMU!

*notice the usual idiotic 'merican comments- e.g.. why can't an American company make the cars, it's sending our jobs overseas, it's the "liberals" fault we can't build railcars, let Boeing make railcars, blah blah...
