Kb4iuj
Does anybody know if this train set, if it has a headlight assembly inside either of the headend locomotives? I was in the process to add interior lighting to these things and was wondering if Kato forgot to install the headlights? Edited October 23, 2019 by railsquid Add set details to title Link to comment
railsquid
Per the Kato website: https://www.katomodels.com/product/n/e353 the 3-car add-on set only has a headlight assembly in the first car. Link to comment
JR 500系
Further, you could get this extra part add-on if you require a separate motor, and also an additional head/ tail light unit so that there are head/ tail lights on both ends... The default one only comes with one end ~ Link to comment
Kamome
This is a common set up with the Kato express EMUs which have a short and a long set coupled together. The thought process is that the long set will be run either with or without the shorter set, whereas the shorter set won’t be run by itself. Kato are starting to rectify this oversight with add on parts (Assy parts) or upgrade sets. The same design issue exists with other sets such as: 651 series Super Hitachi 351 series Super Azusa Link to comment
Kb4iuj
Thanks for looking it up. Will look at both sets again to find out if they installed that light and if not. As it’s been a while since pondering asking you guys or gals. Will follow up with photos so all can see the inners. Link to comment
EdF
It is this way on the E353 as well, I have all three sets, and the upgrade to make the 3 car independent. It just has 1 light and the motor, the 3 car comes with one lighted end, the end that doesn't have the high swing coupler. Link to comment
Kb4iuj
Here’s what it looks like. “No sliding light”. Do note - it has the headlight assembly ... Just no light and for 400 yen you too can order the sliding led light. Edited October 26, 2019 by Kb4iuj Link to comment
