Krackel Hopper
hey hey, It was something of a strange morning today. Here I am going about my usual routine and suddenly somebody is knocking on my door. Who could it be? The mail lady wants me to sign for a package. I glance over and see the package is addressed to my girlfriend. Not thinking too much of it, I sign and say thank you. As I'm walking back to the living room I see it's an EMS package from HWJapan. What is this??? Is it for me??? If not, what is my girlfriend buying from HWJapan??? When I asked the little lady what she got from HWJapan, she said it was a "Halloween Gift" and that I could go ahead and open it because it was close enough and I'd already spoiled the "surprise".. A Halloween Gift!!! Well, I figure it can't be anything overly fancy, it's just Halloween.. but it is a pretty decent sized box. So I dig in! Lady Krackel Hopper got for me a great number of buildings/scenery for what will be my first permanent Japanese layout!!! Holy Smokes!!! She'd known I had my eye on these items because I was keeping a wishlist of sorts for what I would need/want for this layout. Now that I've (hopefully) built up the suspense ... ... ! Here's my Halloween Gift!?!?! Greenmax 803 - Small Station Economy Kit Greenmax 33 - 6 Shop Set Greenmax 34 - 6 House Set Greenmax 51 - Garbage Trucks Greenmax 60 - Luggage & Carriers Greenmax 45 - Road Crossing Greenmax 14.2 - Single Tunnel Portal Greenmax 21.2 - Concrete Block Wall Greenmax 23.2 - Fence for Falling Rocks Tomytec 33 - Small Bridges Tomytec 38 - Fence & Pavement Sankei MP03-19 Farmhouse B Sankei MP03-04 Temple Hall Sankei MP04-02 Fence B Sankei MP04-26 Food Stand ICOM PK17 - Flowers 2 We just purchased one of those industrial strength/sized shelves for storage in our 2nd bedroom/office/storage room.. and part of the deal was that we would set aside a shelf for me to make a permanent layout. 2' x 4' mainly as a fun little scene to run our trains on. The track plan is VERY simple.. and I hope to make a nice little city/country transition scene surrounding. More on that later though.. once I break ground (aka - break foam) I'll see about creating a project progress thread. Jon Link to comment

grumbeast
That's fantastic krackel sounds like she's a keeper. You'll need to have a spooky scene somewhere on the layout to reflect the gift ! Maybe a zombie or a vampire in a back alley somewhere :) g Link to comment
Bernard
Jon - I don't believe it..... and I envy you!! Most "other halves" has no idea what we want in the way of trains but yours figured it out and on top of it surprised you. She's not only a Keeper, the "train gods" would make her a saint. I can't wait to find out what she has in store for Christmas. Link to comment

Krackel Hopper
She is a fantastic girl.. keeps me busy.. keeps me on my toes.. keeps me out of trouble.. keeps me guessing.. With all these new kits, I'm going to try and be a little more active on my "personal projects". I keep meaning to post a project.. but I'm over anxious about getting started that I forget to take pictures as it progresses. It would just seem silly to post a project once it's been done.. I think I'm going to start with the Greenmax 803 kit. Working in a fairly narrow space, I am not 100% sure how this layout will come together.. but I am 100% sure I like my station/platform positioning.. the other items will get built around it.. So later today/tomorrow I'll be looking at starting my first project in progress thread.. Link to comment
