Welshbloke
Having added the 165 Series as a tag on Instagram I now get regular images of the type in my news feed. Something unexpected about this one though: There appears to be a standard 3 car 165 Series painted in the same colours and placed in the middle of the train. The windows look like the original two piece sort rather than the single panes fitted to the Panorama Express Alps rebuild, so I presume it was just a repaint. Could be a good project for a junk dummy 165 Series set. I can't tell whether it has the low roof MoHa 164 or not from this angle. 1 Link to comment
railsquid
That's a 4-car 167-series set in メルヘン (Märchen) livery designed to be able to beef up the Panorama Express Alps, see e.g.: https://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/takahasi2979/35371391.html and this page towards the bottom: http://www.uraken.net/rail/alltrain/uratetsu165.html 1 Link to comment

Welshbloke
Ahh, that'd be why I was struggling to find further mention of it. I did see a four car set with the red and yellow stripes on the Wikipedia page but could only make out three cars in the Instagram photo. Link to comment
