That would probably only give jerky issues when changing the speed, not when running steady. The power supply on these is at least 1 amp so plenty for the train and led lighting.

Those Tomix all wheel pick up couplers have always been a pain to couple up.  You'll find a technique that works for you with practice.

Yes they are practice and nudging the couplers straight before engaging. They don’t couple on curves easily at all.

 

but over the years it’s pretty easy, not as simple as rapidos or sharfenbergers, but not horrible.

Yes, a pretty big pain in the patooty.  But luckily, once you do it a few times, your time-to-success rate gets better.
