A bit surprising, I thought with the mountainous territory that is much of Japan, there would be stations higher than that Got to 4,825m in the Andes in Bolivia, Condor station, Bolivian National Railway. railsquid Posted July 5, 2019 Share Posted July 5, 2019 Japan may have lots of mountains, but in contrast to the continental landmasses of South America and Asia, it doesn't have much in the way of high plateaus, so for the most part railway lines run through the valleys and pass underneath the mountains in tunnels. 1 Link to comment
