Tomix 0508 Light board issues

I have purchased the Tomix E259 using the 0508 light board and recently noticed that both the red and white LED are on at the same time in the power car. I had recently opened it up to see about the feasibility of converting it to DCC and I'm not sure if it's something I managed to do in the process. I'm using a Tomix power pack and the train runs perfectly fine. 

 

I've tried a couple of different options even going as far as testing the board directly. Everything works as expected until it's connected to the motor. Even placing it on with the motor springs removed worked.

 

Has any one experienced this? Are there any obvious solutions I'm missing?
