ben_issacs
Folks, I'm making Sankei and Amagi Modelling stations, and am finding that whilst the Amagi models do have station, names in their instructions, Sankei don't. Generally, Sankei have station name boards that have the names in Kanji and Roman, but every so often in Kanji only.. It'd be nice to be able to give names to all of these models, just for my own satisfaction. I've just finished Sankei MP03-100, an old style wooden station. It has a nameboard, two characters, something gawa or kawa. Chasing up the first character, I get several versions of it, but none seem to be in the big list of present day station names (Kitayama Rail) Of course, it could be a station that no longer exists, or are the Sankei models sometimes of never existing or imaginary stations? Regards, Bill, Melbourne. Link to comment
VJM
Tatekawa. Possibly not a real place, as I cannot get Google Maps to come up with something sensible. Link to comment
ben_issacs
VJM, Yes, I got 'Tate' for the first character, and in my pretty extensive Japanese Gazetteer, Tatekawa' as one word does not appear. There is a Tate-Kawa, but the first character is different. May have been a station that no longer exists. Will check my other Sankei station models. Regards, Bill, Melbourne. Link to comment
