Kato E259 part 4811C

Anyone have sources for kato parts? HS and Kato are out of stock, and I don't suspect Kato will run the E259 again soon.

 

I want to de-motor one of my sets.

Will kato japan ship to the US? 4810C is available and I wouldn't know the difference.

No Kato japan usually does not ship to the us directly, but you can try contacting katoUSA as they will usually try and order Kato japan parts. KatoUSA usually wants you to fax or email them the instruction/parts sheet with the part number you want circled. Hey had issues with folks asking for wrong stuff so they wanted to have a clear indication as to what you wanted.

 

good to try Nariichi San first as he can order from Kato if available. He also has a buying service if you find it at a Japanese hobby shop that does not ship to the us.

you can de-motor a set by removing the motor and the wheel set gears fairly easily.  I've done it in a few cases where a motor car wont run fast enough with the other motor car.
