Tobu New 70090 series

The Tobu railway has announced a new 70090 train series for through service to the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. This series will feature convertible cross seats for surcharge reserved seat service.  These trains will be based on Tobu's 7000 series.

Combined with the Tokyo Metro 13000 series and Tobu's 70000 series this will lead to removal of non-standard rolling stock which would remove barriers to installing platform gates.
