Alright, the 18000 series is passable, but the 17000 is truly horrible.

The 17000 series was shown off to journalists yesterday, including a look at the interior.

Apparently, they're supposed to be similar to the 7000 series and the 10000 series so that users are 'familiar' with the new trains.

Additionally, there's higher capacity aircon, larger seats, and a lower floor height. Also a derailment detector that stops other trains nearby should a derailment occur.
