Building Sound Files for DD51

Hello all.

Decided my next purchase will be a DD51 or two, however I'd like to make an attempt at building s set of sounds for it using an ESU Select decoder and the programmer. I know the DD51 is powered by a pair of turboed V16s (DML61), although ESU does not have Japanese prototypes available on their website. I would like to compile sounds from various locomotives in order to create a program that at least sounds similar to the prototype, although I'm not familiar with European trains and I'm not even sure where to begin with the American trains as there are just so many.

Assistance please?

Does anyone know an american or European prime mover that sounds like the DML61 or should I just go download all the older diesels and shuffle through them one-by-one?
