to2leo
Yes, I love the interior of that observation deck car. I think I generally have a train fetish for anything BI-levels or Round front.... No filthy imagination now! :angel2: Link to comment
Fenway Park
There is a Green Max style kit on Hobby Search for the JR Kyushu 817. It uses GM chassis and bogies. Link to comment

Settebello looks so much like the Romance Car, was there any linkages between the two? ETR 300 is much older (1952) than Odakyu Romance and Meitetsu cars (around 1960-65) http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%90%8D%E9%89%847000%E7%B3%BB%E9%9B%BB%E8%BB%8A the Japanese designers has been inspired from Italian train (use google translation, this page explain all) p.s for HO scale friends, this train is expected in 2010 from ACME company ciao Massimo Link to comment
to2leo
Wow the Japanese is really in love with the design. I wonder if the Settebello's driver compartment is as cramped. @David, not only train drivers but I think some of the car drivers in our cities need that too Link to comment

ToniBabelony
*doing a bit of a gravedigg* Oh! Interesting topic. I'm eager to see a cheap model of the Bogey type LE railbuses made by Fuji-Heavy industries ( http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/LE-Car ). Just like TOMIX did with the LE-Car II (two-axle version) a some time ago. These cars are in use on many 3rd-sector lines in Japan, but are now slowly being replaced with LE-DC cars, as on the Mooka RR where the MOOKA 63 Series have been replaced with MOOKA 14 Series. Ah, the MOOKA 14 Series looks so awesome! A cubic watermelon :9 Maybe there is hope that TOMYTEC in the near future produces a series of these DMU... They did a great job on the old railbuses, so why not modern types? Link to comment

This train is available now from One-Mile. One-Mile has released die-cast, un-powered trains in the past, this may be the same type of model. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10068350 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10068351 Link to comment
EWS60008
The Nagumo unit looks nice. But I assume going by the colours, its the Royal Imperial train that the Emperor rides on? Anyways that would make a nice N gauge model for my fleet! Link to comment
westfalen
Furasato Ginga Railway railcars, last private railway on Hokkaido, I rode the line in February 2006, a few weeks before it closed. http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showphoto.php/photo/44343/cat/579 Tomix showed them in their catalog back about 2006, but I've never seen any. I've got this one in the 999 Livery: http://pics.livedoor.com/u/snoopy_erinacchi/1118434 Quite a nice runner actually! The (regular i.e non 999 livery) shows up on eBay every once in a while. JR Kyushu * Series 787 (non Relay Tusbame) After *years* of searching I finally finally found the 2 car add-on set for their old 787. Ahhh happy camper now. Link to comment

scott
and maybe (but that's a dream) the italian EMU ETR300 Settebello in N scale from Kato/Hobbytrain http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Settebello_(treno) Definitely! That's been one of my favorites since I was a kid....there was a section on it in an "Atlas of Railways" that my parents gave me. (Still have it, too.) There's lots of stuff I'd like to see in N scale, but I still need to catch up on what is or isn't already made.... <<--newbie Link to comment
