disturbman
Ok that's not japanese and clearly not a railroad per se... But I'm amazed that someone can manufacture a N version of the Wuppertal Monorail. http://www.quirao.com/fr/p/modele_a_piloter/train_miniature/10106/train-hinge-seul-n-hielscher-10269.htm http://www.quirao.com/fr/p/modele_a_piloter/train_miniature/10089/wagon-suspendu-kaiserwagen-1901-coffret-de-base-n-hielscher-10250.htm http://www.hielscher-dampfmodelle.de/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=24&Itemid=52 Could be a nice add to a layout. Guest ___
This is totally sweet. It wouldn't work for my layout, bu still... Link to comment
quinntopia
I need to figure out how to add that. And...uh...pay for it too. Really neat! Thanks for sharing this! Link to comment
Claude_Dreyfus
That is SOOOOO cool The Kaiser set looks really cute....surely the Japanese could have a German version of Huis ten Bosch with this running around? Link to comment
to2leo
I think I can sit there and enjoy seeing it go round and round with the wheels turning. I hope they are reliable like the real thing. Link to comment
disturbman
I hope too, I think they ought to for the price. I'd love to see one runing. Link to comment
cteno4
I tried to convince one of the jrm club members to put this on his layout. he could get away with it as one end of the large basement layout is europe and the other is japan! he collects trains he has ridden on hence the big two ended layout. there is a bit of philly in the center even as he grew up there! these do look fun. if i remember right i think its actually battery powered to avoid having to do two conductor pickup. when i saw this i really wanted to see if there was some way to do the shonan hanging monorail! http://japanrailmodelers.org/photos/E_Shonan/index.html this is the kind of thing using those micro rc car systems could really be fun for. I keep noodling on converting one of those micro rc car systems into one of the little tired monorail or tram systems. if battery operated and remote controlled it could then just run on a little U shaped track or beam. every time i see this or the mag lev i want to figure out some way to model it! cheers jeff Link to comment
westfalen
With the number of monorails operating in Japan I'm surprised no manufacturer has made one. Link to comment
cteno4
yeah, only seen static models of the maglev as souvenirs. it would probably require doing battery power and rc control bit different than standard stuff. DOH! now just realizing that a Qtrain would be perfect for one of the rubber tire systems! about the right size and only takes 2 cars to run it! ok now im going to have to play with this! the Qtrains dont like to run well on track. wondering if the steering was just decoupled it would be happier on a small tracked system. would just need a track cross section of u––u cheers jeff Link to comment

cteno4
Yes there is and i think there was an HO scale model done of it a while back. jeff Link to comment
