gavino200
I'm thinking of getting the following two Kato sets. 10-1268 and 10-1269 to go with my Tomix E233-3000 as the Tomix add-on set isn't available. The Tomix set has Rapido couplers (which I like, strangely enough). The Kato sets have fancy special couplers. Does anyone know if the Kato cars can be refitted with Rapido couplers? Or if they come with replacement rapido couplers in the box? https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10303948 https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10303950 Link to comment
katoftw
Body mount tight locking design. I cannot see a way to fit rapidos with going full custom. 1 Link to comment

gavino200
Bummer. I guess I'll just wait for the Tomix add-on to be re-released. Thanks Kato. Link to comment

I haven't seen such a coupling type (drop-in bodymounted rapido coupler for Kato); I can't claim to know all Kato coupling types, but if one was available I'm reasonably sure I'd have come across it by now, and doubt there would be much demand for them. I do have an older MicroAce set which came with some rather floppy body-mounted Rapidos on the end cars, but those are for the Tomix-style bodymounts of course. Kato do sell Rapido pockets for wagons, I imagine if you really wanted to, you could fix those to the cars in question, though I imagine it wouldn't be very satisfactory.
