I will be hanging around Shinjuku after midnight to shoot the special Hatsumode trains. I will also shoot some temples and shrines near my apartment at midnight to record New Years customs in Tokyo. A couple of years ago, a number of the drinking spots on the lane leading to Shoin-jinja Temple were open near 4 AM as I was heading towards Shinjuku, but last year it pretty much dark. I'll also shoot the first sunrise then it's back home to have the New Year's ozoni soup and osetchi ryori. (New Year's good luck food)
