Yavianice
"Many" dead, dozens injured. Pretty dramatic views from Turkey today. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/dec/13/turkey-train-crash-four-killed-dozens-injured-in-high-speed-ankara-collision Edited December 13, 2018 by Yavianice Link to comment
Socimi
Rolling stock involved in the accident: Class HT80000 high-speed electric multiple unit (Siemens - 2nd generation Velaro, built between 2013 and 2015) Class E68000 (unit 68 041) electric locomotive (Hyundai Rotem, built between 2013 and 2015) Also visible in the video (at around 0:17), altough it does not seems to have been involved in the accident, is a Class E23000 commuter electric multiple unit (Hyundai Rotem, 2009) of the Baskentray commuter railway line (the station where the accident happened is Marsandiz, wich serves the Baskentray line). ben_issacs
Folks, Whew! A nasty looking stack! Thanks to Socimi for giving us details of the stock involved. It appears that things aren't too good with the Turkish railway system! Regards, Bill, Melbourne.. Link to comment
ben_issacs
Folks, I see also news of a tram derailment on a curve in Lisbon, Portugal, with many injured. From the video, the style of the windows and the fact that the car body is in pieces suggests that it might have been one of the for-wheeler vintage cars that run in Lisbon. Regards, Bill, Melbourne. ben_issacs
Yavianice, Thanks for that, I'd picked it up a bit earlier on. The map is not much use, no railways shown! Regards, Bill, Melbourne. Link to comment
