Indian trai breaks in two.

Folks,

Caught a piece a couple of days ago about a train breakaway in India.

Apparently some time in April. 

Has it been reported here yet?

Possibly Bombay, at night, a twenty car pass train, probably a suburban train, broke in two.

It seems that the  auto. air brakes didn't work, and the two runaway sections were stopped 'by piling rocks on the track'!

N0 report of injuries.

Has anyone more info. on this?

We did have a brief discussion at the time.

 

Unless you have well-placed contacts within IR you’re unlikely to learn much more about it. I had a good contact in the NER at Varanasi, but she’s now retired.
